In a market where material costs and long lead times can impact project success, our team is focused on reducing risks. Evolve Steel provides a turnkey solution utilizing our Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) workflow, allowing concurrent design and construction activities that accelerate material readiness for critical path items and enhance cost certainty by involving trade partners early. Our services span steel detailing and BIM, design assist/pre-construction, estimating, project management, steel erection, and steel fabrication.
The Position: Experienced DetailerWe are looking for an experienced detailer with a strong background in structural steel who can join our team and contribute to our ongoing and future projects.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed steel fabrication drawings, including plans, sections, and details using Tekla Structures and AutoCAD.
- Perform detailed dimensional checks, bill of material checks, and layout for steel elements.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of drawings in accordance with industry standards and company practices.
- Identify and resolve clashes and constructability issues in collaboration with other trades.
- Develop RFIs (Requests for Information) as needed and coordinate with project teams to ensure all details are clear and actionable.
- Provide detailing solutions to address field issues during fabrication and installation phases.
- Assist with answering shop and field questions to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Maintain records of changes for submitting change orders and ensure all documentation is up to date.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural building plans.
- Familiarity with construction trade drawings and the ability to coordinate information between them.
- Skilled in using and navigating Tekla, AutoCAD, and SDS software.
- 4 years of experience in structural steel detailing with a minimum of 5 years in quality checking.
- Knowledge of steel fabrication, erection, and miscellaneous steel detailing.
- Proficiency with AISC, AWS, ASME, and other relevant building codes.
- Strong understanding of the design, build, and fabrication process.
