Position Overview:
Hiring firm is an investment manager with families of funds focused on primary commitments to venture funds, LP and direct secondaries, co-investments and direct investments. The Company is seeking a Data Manager to oversee a comprehensive data strategy program. This will be the first hire focused holistically on our data management program. The Data Manager will report to the Partner, COO & CFO.
Essential Responsibilities:
Manage a comprehensive data strategy program that aligns with business outcomes across the company; including enhancements and maintenance of current products and recommendations for new products
Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation and client experience improvements
Supports teams in understanding and properly utilizing data assets
Identify data quality issues and work with data owners to resolve them
Collaborate with cross functional teams to define product requirements and prioritize feature developments
Identify and manage external consultants as needed to build or maintain products
Liaise with the company's compliance team to maintain a data governance program, including data quality management and record retention
Required Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of data management tools, including Tableau, Power BI, and other relevant software.
Understanding of investment management (ideally venture capital) industry and relevant sources (eg. Pitchbook, Preqin, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly organized workload planning and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Demonstrates a commitment to teamwork and transparent communication
Strong work ethic and motivated to meet objectives
Strong Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills with high attention to detail
Education and Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience that demonstrates progressive increase in responsibilities
Bachelor's degree or equivalent required
Other Requirements:
Able to work beyond the company's normal 8:00am to 5:00pm office hours
