Key Responsibilities
As a commercial litigation paralegal, you will:
- Prepare deposition, trial, and record subpoenas according to state and federal regulations, coordinating the production of third-party records and summarizing them.
- Analyze, review, and organize documents and data from client materials and discovery, as well as prepare and coordinate document production.
- Prepare trial notebooks, binders, and other necessary materials.
- Assist with drafting and preparation of pleadings, motions, submissions, and discovery requests and responses in both federal and state court cases, as well as arbitration and mediation proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and background checks utilizing tools such as Lexis, Pacer, Accurint, Secretary of State databases, and social media.
- Maintain litigation calendars for assigned attorneys and ensure all deadlines, conferences, and meetings are accounted for.
- Work additional hours as necessary to support the team and meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal commercial litigation paralegal candidate will have:
- Florida Bar Paralegal Certificate or a Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of five years of experience as a litigation paralegal.
- Strong knowledge of federal and Florida courts.
- Experience with document management systems and eDiscovery platforms.
- Proficiency in Windows environments.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
- A high level of reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
