Applications Engineer

Evolver Federal is seeking an Applications Engineer to satisfy a requirement for a potential government client.

Responsibilities:

The Application Engineer will support a large Information Technology contract, focusing on the development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications that meet the program's requirements. The successful candidate will have experience in application development and support, and will be responsible for ensuring the functionality and performance of the software applications. This position comes with a focus on network infrastructure monitoring and management services. The position will focus on providing analysis and support for the client's cloud-based application services. The Application Engineer will manage the Proofpoint mail security system, ensuring efficient mail delivery through multiple security layers using log diagnostics. They will monitor and manage mail routing via an LDAP directory and perform inspections with the Bluecoat Proxy SG and SSL inspection systems. The Application Engineer will diagnose user connectivity issues using logs and collaborate with partner entities for in-depth IT investigations and policy modifications. They will also monitor and manage the Infoblox DNS system, utilizing the Xymon monitoring system to configure new modules and investigate problems. They will implement a Zscaler Zero Trust solution. Lastly, the candidate will collaborate with various stakeholders to implement application solutions that meet business requirements and comply with government standards and regulations. The candidate must be local to the National Capital region.

Basic Qualifications:

• Top Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or Business; or 10 years experience of education, technical training, or work experience
• 15 years' experience with BlueCoat Proxies, ProofPoint Mail Systems, and Infoblox DNS
• Must be local to the National Capital region

Preferred Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in application development and support, including designing, coding, testing, and deploying applications
• Knowledge regarding Zscaler Zero trust solutions
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of government standards, regulations, and security policies
• Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders to meet business requirements
• Experience with various programming languages and development tools
• Experience with database management systems
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies

Salary : $135,000 - $165,000
