About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Environmental Test Engineer to play a critical role in preparing our spacecraft for flight. You will be responsible for designing, executing, and overseeing comprehensive test campaigns, ensuring that our spacecraft can withstand the harsh conditions of space. You’ll also manage our space simulator and enable rapid iteration of spacecraft design for optimal performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute test plans for a wide range of flight testing, including thermal, thermal-vacuum, vibration, shock, radiation, atomic oxygen, and other unique testing conditions.
- Design and build custom testing systems to address novel challenges specific to our spacecraft.
- Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure that all spacecraft systems undergo robust and thorough testing for reliability and performance.
- Own the space simulator and ensure it meets the needs of fast iteration and testing.
Ideal Qualifications
- Proven experience testing and troubleshooting spacecraft, as well as establishing unique testing infrastructures and setups.
- Familiarity with space environmental testing, including TVAC, vibration, radiation, and other relevant tests.
- Strong background in HITL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) or flatsat testbeds for spacecraft testing and validation.
