RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop detailed cost estimates for capital projects, including but not limited to construction, equipment, materials, labor, and other direct and indirect costs.
- Collaborate with engineers and contractors to gather all necessary information to provide accurate estimations.
- Serve as regional bridgehead for the global Cost Estimation and Validation function.
- Evaluate project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and required contents of the estimate.
- Utilize cost estimation software and methodologies to prepare and maintain reliable and comprehensive cost data.
- Analyze historical data and project future costs for key commodities, labor rates, productivity, and technology trends.
- Prepare risk analysis reports and identify potential areas of cost overruns.
- Participate in the tender process, including document preparation, data analysis, and negotiations.
- Review contractual documents and technical proposals to ensure cost awareness and efficiency.
- Liaise with procurement and supply chain management to ensure cost-effective sourcing of materials and services.
- Support project managers in the preparation of capital project budgets and the establishment of cost tracking systems.
- Present cost estimates to senior management, providing clear and concise explanations for variances and key cost drivers.
- Monitor project progress and update cost estimates accordingly, reporting on any variances between estimated and actual costs.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously improve cost estimation processes through lessons learned and best practices.
