The Process Engineer provides technical direction to the AO-Mobile production facility. This position pursues and leads continuous improvement activities as it pertains to process improvement, EHSSQ, equipment reliability and also provides support during process upsets and planned/unplanned shutdowns. Additional responsibilities includes evaluating process optimization and debottlenecking potential and serving as a liaison between technical experts, production, and regional technical resources.
Focus areas for the position are continuous plant improvement, process optimization, ownership of PHA/PSS output, and capital project leadership as PM/PR.

The Process Engineer provides technical direction to the AO-Mobile production facility. Responsibilities
Leadership:
- Leads the department’s continuous improvement (CI) pillar of Evonik Production Systems (EPS)
- Shares and investigates best practices with other AO NA sites and other site production units
- Spearheads EHSSQ initiatives aimed at improving existing platforms and standards
- Drives the plant to achieve superior EHSSQ results and production targets
- Monitors process and quality data for consistency
- Uses PIMS and other data platforms to troubleshoot the process and develop CI ideas
- Interfaces with H2O2 and H2 customers as it pertains to technical information
- Works with global and regional AO resources to maintain cutting edge technology
- Provides process/equipment design support for the unit
- Performs process optimization studies
- Evaluates technical improvement options related to equipment, capital projects, process improvement
- Develops conceptual scopes of work for process and plant improvement projects and initiatives
- Leads Basic and construction engineering project phases as PM/PR
- Interfaces with project teams as the unit’s technical advisor on larger capital projects
- Owns the department’s overall PHA/PSS management – completion of process safety evaluations and recommendations
- Participates in regulatory and customer audits
- Leads and/or participates in process safety topics: incident investigations, PSSR’s, MOC/IM reviews, PHA/PSS, etc.
- B.S. degree in chemical engineering is required (Mechanical Engineering with related experience may be considered).
- 2-5 years of experience in the chemical production industry. Prior professional experience or a term as an engineering intern or co-op is required.
- Previous experience with process or equipment design is preferred
