As a Material Planner in the Coating Additives division at Evonik, you will ensure the smooth execution of our supply chain operations across sourcing, making, and delivering processes. Your role involves maintaining accurate inventory levels to meet production demands and service objectives efficiently. You will actively monitor inventory health, manage risks associated with overstock or shortages, and implement strategies for optimizing stock, including handling obsolete or slow-moving items.
Additionally, you will coordinate logistics and supply requirements across multiple regions, ensuring that our plants operate without supply interruptions and in alignment with corporate standards. Your expertise will also support the Product Manager in addressing product-related issues and implementing corrective actions to maintain quality and customer satisfaction.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain optimal inventory levels, aligned with business demands and objectives, ensuring operational efficiency and minimal waste.
- Manage expedites, coordinate logistics across regions, and uphold the integrity of allocation plans as set by our Supply Chain Execution Lead.
- By managing non-sellable inventory decisively and supporting the Product Manager in the complaint process, you contribute to our relentless pursuit of excellence.
- Work closely with Customer Relations and Production to solve challenges creatively and maintain smooth operations.
- Effectively use tools and systems, including SAP and Microsoft Office, to analyze data and improve processes.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Logistics, or you bring at least five years of relevant experience in supply chain management.
- Certified in APICS or a similar qualification, with a strong foundation in commercial acumen, customer service, or manufacturing.
- Proficiency in SAP is required; this is essential for managing inventory data and processes efficiently. Strong skills in Microsoft office, especially Excel, are also required for data analysis and reporting.
- An exceptional communicator, using your ability to articulate complex supply chain processes clearly across all levels of the organization, effectively present data-driven insights to key stakeholders, and facilitate meetings to ensure alignment and decisive action across diverse teams.
- You thrive in multicultural and matrixed environments, a key trait for driving initiatives across various regions and business lines, enhancing team cohesion and ensuring consistent execution of supply chain strategies.
- A problem solver at heart, you use your strong analytical skills to foresee and tackle challenges head-on, this will be essential when making data-driven decisions that impact inventory management and operational efficiency.
