Responsibilities
- Lead and operate advanced spectroscopic analyses (NMR, IR), interpreting complex molecular mixtures and structures with precision.
- Develop, validate, and implement new analytical techniques and methods to support RD&I, process innovation, and product development.
- Optimize and maintain high-end analytical instruments, ensuring accuracy and performance.
- Consult with cross-functional teams on analytical problem-solving and experimental design.
- Perform additional analytical testing (chromatography, mass spectrometry, thermal analysis, titration) as needed.
- Contribute to global knowledge-sharing initiatives within Evonik’s technical network.
- Maintain a culture of safety, compliance, and innovation, adhering to all regulatory and ESH standards.
- Ph.D. in Organic or Polymer Chemistry with a strong foundation in Analytical Chemistry.
- Deep expertise in NMR spectroscopy (essential) - ideally 3 years in industry - and strong proficiency in IR spectroscopy.
- Experience with chromatography, mass spectrometry, thermal analysis, elemental analysis, or particle characterization is a plus.
- Analytical problem-solving mindset with a passion for driving research innovation.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic R&D environment.
