POSITION SUMMARY:
The Regional Director of Nursing provides leadership and oversight to Nurse Manager at each site as well as all other nursing department staff. It is the responsibility of the Regional DON to oversee client/patient care, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, risk reduction, and state license/Joint Commission Survey readiness.

Essential Duties
- Provides weekly on-site support at each location for supervision and clinical expertise, ensuring communication, and monitoring overall operation of the Nursing Department.
- Writes, implements, and trains staff on new processes, protocols, and policies as needed in nursing operational procedural development as well as any regulatory changes to maintain compliance with Federal/State regulations.
- Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all rules and regulations pertaining to Mental Health Residential/Detox level of care for the state of Tennessee. Responsible for keeping informed of industry trends and standards of care while applying knowledge to meet the changing needs of the facility.
- Monitors incident reports for follow up on health, injury/illness, medication, or staff-related and development/monitoring plans of correction.
- Identify any trends in a timely manner and assist/create corrective action plan in collaboration with VP of Operations, Executive Directors, and VP of Finance.
- Assist onsite management with training and hiring of new personnel, addressing any challenges or barriers.
- Perform regular one on one check ins with Nurse Managers to identify barriers/challenges/process issues, help the nurse manager grow within their role establishing goals, aid in their professional development. Providing leadership onsite guidance to foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze applicable KPI’s and metrics to assess operational/evidence-based practice performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with all leaders to drive innovation and implement new initiatives that enhance effectiveness between departments.
- Manage resource allocation for each location and aim to achieve cost efficiency with maximizing profitability in collaboration with VP of Operations, VP of Finance, and Executive Directors.
- Supervise client charts and ensure compliance.
- Maintain professional and collaborative working relationship with contracted Providers to ensure clients care that adheres to evidence based practice standards of care.
- Provide staffing support based on facility and census requirements.
- Ensure all stock supply and medications are maintained.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited college with RN degree
- Must possess active RN license in GA or TN (based on position)
- Two years experience in chemical dependency/psychiatric setting, preferably in a residential setting and/or outpatient setting
- Five years experience in nursing management
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial and legal information
- Must have current BLS CPR certification
- Current (five years) no felonies or substance abuse
- Experience with EMR systems
- Previous supervisor experience
- Strong problem solving and follow through
- Ability to work independently and to adapt to a fast-changing environment
- Self disciplined
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
