What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientist I, Potency position at Evotec?
Just is seeking a motivated and creative Scientist who desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. The Scientist will work with a multidisciplinary CMC team for the analytical and functional biocharacterization of large molecule therapeutics. The position requires expertise with method development and troubleshooting of immunoassays and cell-based potency methods. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and work well under pressure. The ability to multi-task and work well both individually and on teams will be essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Development and qualification of cell-based potency methods and immunoassays
- Responsible for data analysis, review, and summarizing results
- Subject matter expert responsible for transfer of release methods
- Author technical documents including analytical methods, standard operating procedures, qualification reports, and technical reports
- Mentoring and training of new team members
- Present scientific data to analytical department, cross-functional teams, and clients
- Responsible for general lab tasks including equipment maintenance and ordering lab supplies
Education Requirements:
- PhD with 0-2 years of experience OR BS in Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Immunology, Bioengineering, Chemistry or related field and 5 years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Use of liquid-handling automation applications
- Experience with biolayer interferometry or surface plasmon resonance
- Excellent organizational skills
- Experience with designing DOEs and JMP software
- Familiar with ICH and USP guidelines pertaining to potency methodology
The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $90,000 to $110,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual’s skills, experience and competitive market value.
