Position Overview : The Senior IT Business Analyst will serve as a crucial intermediary between IT and business units, ensuring that technology solutions align with business strategies. This role involves in-depth analysis of business processes, identification of IT-driven improvements, and the successful implementation of systems and software that meet the organization's needs. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical acumen and business insight, capable of translating business requirements into technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
Requirement Gathering and Analysis :
- Elicit and document business and technical requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and document analysis.
- Analyze business processes to identify inefficiencies and propose IT-based solutions.
- Develop detailed functional and technical specifications.
Solution Design and Implementation :
Collaborate with IT and business teams to design effective technology solutions.Create and present business cases for IT projects, including ROI and cost-benefit analysis.Oversee the development and implementation of IT projects, ensuring they meet business needs.Process Improvement :
Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.Utilize data analysis and modeling techniques to drive process improvements.Lead initiatives to enhance system functionality and user experience.Stakeholder Management :
Act as the primary point of contact between business units and IT teams.Manage stakeholder expectations and facilitate clear communication.Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive project delivery.Documentation and Reporting :
Produce comprehensive documentation for business and technical requirements.Maintain up-to-date project documentation and status reports.Prepare reports on project progress, risks, and issues for management review.Quality Assurance and Testing :
Adhere with and ensure that IT solutions meet regulatory and GMP requirements.Knowledge of computer system validation principles and processes.Develop and execute test plans and test cases to ensure solutions meet business requirements.Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT) and troubleshoot issues.Ensure the delivery of high-quality IT solutions through rigorous testing.Leadership and Mentoring :
Mentor and guide junior IT business analysts.Lead by example in promoting best practices in IT business analysis.Contribute to the professional development of the team through knowledge sharing and training.Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.Experience : Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT business analysis or a related role. Experience in a senior or leadership position is highly desirable.Skills :Strong technical and analytical skills with a deep understanding of IT systems and applications.
Proficiency in business analysis tools and methodologies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Preferred Attributes :
Experience with project management and agile methodologies.Knowledge of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT infrastructure.Familiarity with industry-specific software and technologies.Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be $110,000 to $140,000; Base salary offered may vary depending on individual's skills, experience and competitive market value.
