Job Description and Responsibilities Join EVRAZ North America’s Pueblo team as a Senior Purchasing Manager and lead the procurement function to ensure the timely acquisition of high-quality materials, products, and services for the company at competitive prices.
This role is key to supporting operational efficiency, cost reduction, and long-term supply chain sustainability.
The Senior Purchasing Manager will manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in purchasing and supply chain management, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset.
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies aimed at optimizing costs and quality by managing supplier contacts and negotiating prices to secure the best value for the organization
- Lead and mentor a team of purchasing professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Build and maintain strong relationship with key suppliers to effectively monitor performance, resolve issues as they arise, and ensure reliability delivery of goods / services
- Oversee contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions, compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and alignment with organizational goals
- Manage the purchasing budget and identify cost-saving opportunities across all categories of spend by reporting purchasing performance metrics
- Collaborate with inventory, production, maintenance, reliability and logistics teams to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent supply chain disruptions
- Continuously conduct market analysis, procurement innovations research, and risk assessments to ensure competitive pricing and sustainable sourcing
- Lead initiatives to streamline purchasing processes, implement best practices, and utilize technology for greater efficiency, accuracy, and transparency
- Performs other duties as they might be assigned Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- At least 7-10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proven leadership and team management capabilities
- Advanced knowledge of procurement software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- In-depth understanding of supply chain management, inventory control, and supplier performance metrics
- Strong analytical skills with a focus on data-driven decision-making
- Knowledge of contract law, compliance regulations, and ethical sourcing practices
- Demonstrate strong business judgement, integrity, financial acumen and project management
- Exhibits a strong intellectual curiosity that challenges assumptions, pushes boundaries and exhibits intrinsic motivation to explore new solutions
- Strong problem-solving abilities and resilience under pressure

Salary : $120,000 - $135,000
