RATE OF PAY WILL COMMENSURATE WITH EXPERIENCE.
Summary: Drives truck with capacity of more than 3 tons, to safely transport equipment to and from the dealership, by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water and services as necessary.
Checks condition of equipment to be delivered prior to it being loaded on truck.
Reports shortages or problems to the Service Manager or the Salesperson.
Drives truck to destination.
Obtains necessary signatures and receipts as required by delivery instructions.
Collects payment for goods delivered if applicable.
Loads and unloads truck.
Gives basic instructions to the customer regarding how to operate the equipment.
Performs emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
Fastens chains or binders around items to secure cargo during transit.
Checks with dealership before leaving any location for instructions regarding additional jobs, returned loads, or special instructions.
Keeps Texas Department of Transportation required registration and permits current.
Obeys traffic laws and complies with Texas Department of Transportation requirements regarding load capacity, load limits, height and weight of truck.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
No computer skills needed.
Certificates and Licenses:
Texas Motor Vehicle License with a clear record and must have forklift certification.
