What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic - Diesel Lube Technician position at Ewing Bros Inc.?
As a Fleet Lube Technician / Mechanic you will be responsible for performing maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on our fleet of vehicles, which includes light to heavy-duty tow trucks, heavy equipment, and common automobiles. Working in a DOT-regulated environment, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and compliance of our vehicles, helping to uphold our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our customers and employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Strict enforcement of company safety policy.
- Adheres to OSHA and all applicable state agencies to maintain a compliant fleet garage.
- Maintains all routine maintenance and more for the Ewing Bros Inc. fleet of 90 tow trucks and company vehicles.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles to identify and address potential issues before they escalate, A / B / C Services.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems and perform repairs as needed to ensure optimal vehicle performance.
- Perform brake inspections, adjustments, and repairs in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Conduct thorough safety checks on all vehicles, including inspections of tires, lights, steering, and suspension systems.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including parts used and labor hours, using our designated tracking system.
- Coordinate with the Fleet Manager to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks based on operational needs and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work environment in the maintenance facility, and provide your own tools of your trade.
- Stay updated on industry developments, best practices, and regulatory changes related to vehicle maintenance and safety.
