Position Overview:
Vinita Public Schools is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual for the position of Middle School Assistant Principal (Intern), beginning in July. Responsibilities:
The Middle School Assistant Principal (Intern) will work closely with the Middle School Principal, faculty, families, and staff to:
Student Support and Positive Culture:
- Assist in implementing and promoting school-wide positive behavior systems.
- Support student interventions and address disciplinary matters with a focus on decreasing repeated negative behavior.
- Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school environment for all students.
- Support initiatives that promote student well-being and social skills and emotional regulation.
Instructional Leadership Support:
- Assist in the implementation of curriculum and instructional programs.
- Support teachers in the use of effective instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Assist with the collection and analysis of student data to inform instructional decisions.
- Participate in professional learning and support teacher growth.
School Operations and Management:
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the middle school.
- Support the coordination of school events and activities.
- Assist with student scheduling and attendance monitoring.
- Support the maintenance of accurate student records.
Family and Community Engagement:
- Assist in fostering positive relationships with parents and families.
- Support communication efforts between the school and the community.
- Participate in school and community events.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Educational Administration or related field.
- Valid Oklahoma teaching certification.
- Demonstrated interest in school leadership and administration.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, families, and the community.
- Commitment to student success, learning, and a positive school culture.
- Willingness to learn and grow as an educational leader.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a middle school setting.
