Provide campus security and surveillance to ensure the welfare of all employees, guests and visitors. Your patrol presence on the network grounds will provide a continuous source of assistance and safety, and you’ll also serve as the first point of contact for providing information to our visitors and guests.

What You Will Do
- Perform campus surveillance on foot and by vehicle, ensuring security and safety.
- Screen all vehicles at the Network entrances, maintaining a sense of vigilance for undesirable, dangerous, or counterproductive activities or individuals.
- Monitor cameras, fire protection systems and other devices from the control room.
- Provide accurate and timely written or verbal information/instruction to all vendors, visitors, pilgrims, or anyone conducting business with the Network.
- Initiate emergency 911 calls as appropriate and direct emergency vehicles to proper locations.
- Administer First Aid, CPR, and basic emergency assistance in the event of an emergency.
- Transport guests to and from the Birmingham airport.
- Direct traffic for special functions and some live show events.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a Security/Law enforcement, military, EMS or related field.
- Hold a valid Alabama State Driver’s License.
- Have a valid State of Alabama pistol permit or able to obtain one upon hire.
- First Aid and CPR certified, or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire date.
- Possess a basic knowledge of OSHA & NFPA codes and standards.
- Physically able to perform the duties including lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Computer proficient.
- Exhibit strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Able to maintain discretion and confidentiality around sensitive security issues.
- Attentive to the needs of others, courteous but also direct, able to work in a command-type environment and follow instructions.
- Capable of working 12-hour night shift and available for overtime when needed.
- Possess a High School diploma or GED.
