Responsibilities for AWS DevOps
- Deploy and configure production instances for new customers
- Monitor AWS resource utilization and tune the system for optimal usage and performance.
- Participate in the on-call Out of Hours Support process working closely with customers and development teams to resolve issues and restore failed client facing services as quickly as possible
- Verify data protection and disaster recovery capabilities through regular service restore tests in accordance to CPA IS Security requirements
- Provide technical skillsets for DevOps related projects and be involved in technical planning and / or execution activities
- Help with all facets of Site Reliability – DevOps architecture, monitoring, tools & processes, production incidents and RCAs
- Architect infrastructures that utilize cloud security and dependency management best practices
- Develop offerings that allow for scalability and cost optimization
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in computer/technology related fields with 6 years of industry experience
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines, utilizing Git / SVN, Jenkins, Code Deploy
- Experience administering an AWS EKS or K8S cluster (HPA, Certificate Manager, DNS, Prometheus, Grafana)
- Experience with highly available, clustered database environments, PostgreSQL preferred.
- Solid understanding of AWS EC2 On-Demand, Spot Market, and Reserved Instances
- Experience with AWS VPC (Subnets, route tables, security groups, etc.)
- Experience with message brokering systems (Rabbit MQ, Apache MQ)
- Experience with caching systems (Redis, Memcached, etc.)
- Experience working with Unix / Linux based operating systems.
- Experience with other AWS services—including S3, Cloud Watch, Cloud Formation, and APIs
- Experience with scripting languages (Bash, Python, JavaScript, etc.)
- Experience with C#, C , Java, or other modern programming languages
- Experience writing and administrating Serverless Functions (AWS Lambda)
- Establish and implement Security Compliance (FEDRAMP, NIST, CMMC) practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work collaboratively across technical and non-technical domains
- AWS / K8S Certification preferred, but not required.
