Position Overview:
The Finance Director and Office Manager at a Property Management company will oversee all financial operations within the company, ensuring efficient management of financial resources and alignment with the company’s strategic goals. The ideal candidate will be an experienced and confident leader with a deep understanding of property management financials, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. This position will work independently and report directly to the owner of the company. The role is responsible for keeping the office running smoothly and organized to support property managers, drive profitability, optimize financial processes, and manage financial risks effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning & Analysis: Develop, implement, and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial performance for all properties under management, including internal accounts and condo associations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports, including variance analysis and actionable insights.
- Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow and ensure liquidity requirements for operational needs.
- Strategic Oversight: Collaborate with leadership to provide financial insights that influence business strategy and growth opportunities.
- Property Management Accounting: Oversee property accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, rent collections, reconciliations, and property-specific financial statements.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: Ensure proper financial controls are in place to comply with regulatory requirements and internal audit standards.
- Tax & Audit Management: Coordinate tax filings and tax planning. Work annually with tax advisors.
- Team Leadership: Support and develop high-performing property managers, fostering a culture of support, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- New college graduates and candidates with experience at all levels are encouraged to apply.
- Proven expertise in financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Extensive knowledge of financial software or the ability to learn quickly (e.g., Buildium, MRI, QuickBooks) and strong Excel skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
