About the Role
The Clinical Laboratory Technician is a crucial member of our team, responsible for performing standard laboratory procedures within the assigned department or laboratory. This role involves analyzing data and may assist with research and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high complexity laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to the laboratory's standard operating procedures.
- Meet productivity and turnaround time expectations.
- Maintain a high level of quality in test processes and results.
- Ability to identify problems, notify supervisors, and describe circumstances or contributing factors.
- Achieves and maintains competency on required high complexity laboratory tasks.
- Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience as defined:
- 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution that, at a minimum, includes either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours of science courses that include six semester hours of chemistry, six semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
- Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
- For degrees not in those listed above: 90 semester hours which must include 16 semester hours in chemistry (6 of which must be in inorganic chemistry); 16 semester hours in biology courses; and 3 semester hours of math.
- Experience in molecular testing.
- Strong grasp of molecular biology and genetics techniques and principles.
Benefits
Exact Sciences offers a competitive salary range of $38,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year, depending on location and experience. Additionally, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to be considered for company stock at hire and on an annual basis.
