We protect Virginia’s waters by installing erosion control measures, liner and containment solutions, bio-retentions and other stormwater management practices. Our work includes pavement preservation.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understands a variety of installation projects ranging from pond liners to underground detention units, to pavers and biofilters, to engineered product solutions such as Hydroturf.
- Knowledge of moving materials, gopher, digging, using shovels, wheelbarrow, pickaxes
- Other skills - dingo, skid steer, forklift (stand up), yard stick, shoot grade, basic knowledge of stormwater
- Work as a team to safely achieve profitable job completion
- Work in all types of adverse weather
- Operate various hand tools and power tools
- Operate Heavy Equipment (Skid Steer, Excavator, etc.)
- Perform a variety of physical labor activities
- Maintain a safe and clean job site
- Interacts with the customer onsite as needed
- Promotes a safe and positive work environment
Skills & Experience:
- Strong work ethic
- Must have physical stamina sufficient to perform construction type work such as: lifting and carrying approximately 50 pounds, bending, stooping, climbing in and around construction equipment, and in and out of ditches for 8-12 hour shifts
- able to shoot grade, perform inspections and move equipment (excavators, skid steers, trench rotors) around. Inspections include basic maintenance prevention.
- Valid Driver’s License
- Satisfactory criminal background check for job access
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Strong problem solving and comprehension skills
- Plan reading (identify locations and grades on a plan), identify materials off a plan, picture taking, knowledge with heavy equipment (not just transporting or moving but digging down to grade or fine grading) (A plus)
- Knowledge of the construction, landscaping or maintenance fields (A plus)
- Experience operating construction equipment i.e. skid steer or excavator (A plus)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $27.00 per hour
