Services include all types of residential, commercial, construction and ALTA/NSPS surveys with a commitment of accurate and timely delivery to our clients. Our surveys provide an important component for real estate type transactions involving buyers and sellers, title companies, lenders, attorneys, and real estate agents.

Director of Drafting – Exacta Residential Position Summary:

Under the supervision of an assigned Director, the Regional Drafting Manager will lead and manage the drafting teams in an assigned market and will be responsible for the development and production of the company’s survey drafting department including all aspects of personnel management. Generates weekly reports showing specific job/task allocation, hours worked (including overtime) and measures of quality and efficiency as required. Responsible for 1:1 training new hires and mentoring existing staff for their professional development and increased productivity.

Director of Drafting – Exacta Residential Position Schedule

Monday through Friday with some weekends required during seasonal months. Employees will report to the corporate office in Cleveland, Ohio. Occasional (25%) travel required.

Requirements

Director of Drafting – Exacta Residential Position Responsibilities:

• Functionally perform the duties of a Survey Tech and CAD Drafter.
• Write legal Descriptions, prepare point coordinate files and stake out PDF for field crews. 
• Develop, implement and execute organizational department strategy in coordination with Director Lead Professional Surveyor and other stakeholder/team members. 
• Communicate in a friendly manner with employees and co-workers via phone, teams chat, email and in person.
• Review the jobs that are atypical to our daily flow for drafting and determine the root cause.
• Help to get jobs that are due/overdue through the system and keep things on time.
• Be able to draft using our standards and help as needed.
• Balance out work as needed to keep employees busy and productive.
• Fully adhere to Company’s policies, procedures and work directives.
• Resolve internal/external customer issues in a prompt and professional manner.   
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, managers, clients and other parties related to the Company’s services and overall business. 
• Provide weekly forecast of staffing needs to Operations Leadership and Talent Acquisition.
• Ensure payroll records are accurate daily to ensure accurate payroll processes.  
• Administer PTO according to company policy and demands of the business.
• Actively participate in regular meetings.

• Perform all duties as assigned to meet business needs in a safe, ethical, and professional manner.  

Director of Drafting – Exacta Residential Skills and Experience:

• High School Diploma and/or equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree in or higher preferred.  
• Five (5) years of drafting (or similar) team development & leadership/management experience demonstrating measurable progressive business outcomes.    
• Familiar with drafting and office software systems including AutoCAD, ProgeCAD, Carlson, Trimble, Microsoft Office, SurveyStars, and other job-related software/e-technology/cloud-based solutions.
• Must demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate, negotiate and ensure positive business outcomes.  
• Able to communicate and respond to questions in a professional and knowledgeable manner ensuring business outcomes; assertive problem-solver and action-oriented team player. Must have a relentlessly positive, flexible, do-whatever-it-takes attitude; must be fast on your feet, poised under pressure, and committed to client service
• Ability to balance the workload to accommodate demands of the job and exceed client expectations.
