Exagen is a patient-focused and discovery-driven life sciences company dedicated to transforming the care continuum for patients suffering from debilitating and chronic autoimmune diseases. Our goal is to enable rheumatologists to improve care for patients through the differential diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of complex autoimmune and autoimmune-related diseases, including lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. About the Opportunity: As part of the Information Services (IS) team, the Systems Administrator will play a vital role in Exagen's technical success. This position is responsible for all aspects of the Information Services Infrastructure that is utilized for supporting all elements of day-to-day operations.
Location note: This role requires on-site work at our Carlsbad and Vista locations. Candidates must live within commuting distance.
Responsibilities
- Provide premium customer service, prioritizing the needs of the customer (Exagen associates)
- Handles problem recognition, research, isolation, resolution, and follow-up
- Proactive Systems Administration to ensure systems are installed, configured, and supported to provide seamless connectivity, robust security, optimal performance, and reliable service:
- Virtual Environments (VMWare), Windows Servers, SAN, WAPs, Switches, and Firewalls
- Microsoft Windows and Azure Active Directory: DNS (public and private), DHCP, Group Policies, PowerShell
- Office 365: Entra, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Security, Compliance
- Backups and monthly restoration procedures, including Disaster Recovery environment with bi-annual recovery testing
- Unified Communication as a Service (UCaaS), and video conferencing systems
- Internet and telecommunications connectivity
- Zero Trust Network Access
- All IT and Corporate applications (local and SaaS hosted)
- All networked devices
- Follow formal change control processes, develop system changes, and coordinate with internal and external resources
- Develop and maintain routine monitoring, reporting, and analysis of findings
- Execute internal and external audits (SOX and CLIA) related to the IS Infrastructure
Qualifications
- Technical Experience
- Expert Administrator and troubleshooter of Windows Servers, Active Directory, and Exchange in Office 365 environment. Skilled in using PowerShell. Ability to support SharePoint, and SQL Servers. Solid understanding of networking (switches, firewalls, VLANs, and routing subnets)
- Automating manual administrative processes
- Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Four (4) years of experience in a fast-paced environment or two (2) years of experience with a managed service provider as a Systems Administrator. Must be self-motivated and have a strong desire to be a contributing member of a team
- Language Ability
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Reasoning Ability
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of information provided in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Certificates and Licenses
- Microsoft Certified in Azure preferred, or equivalent certification and/or experience
Salary range: $85,000 - $100,000
