DevOps Engineer

Examinetics is hiring a DevOps Engineer to join our growing team! This full time role is based in office M-F at our Overland Park location and we are open to candidates who live either in the Kansas City Metro or are willing and able to relocate.

This role is an integral part of our IT department, focusing on the automation, deployment, and smooth operation of our web and software development infrastructure. With a blend of PC, on-premises and cloud environments, the DevOps Engineer will maintain our existing systems and drive modernization initiatives across our team. The DevOps Engineer is a key member of the IT Development team responsible for researching, establishing proof of concepts, and quickly using existing knowledge as well as learning new technologies to help the team enable business processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to streamline software development and deployment processes.
• Ensure security of secrets or sensitive data throughout the deployment and hosting process.
• Maintain and optimize website hosting, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Develop and implement resource configuration tools to ensure hosting environment readiness for application deployment.
• Administer containerized applications using container hosting solutions.
• Automate tasks and orchestrate workflows for both Windows and Linux servers using PowerShell, Ansible, or similar tools.
• Collaborate with development teams to adopt new tools and technologies that enhance our operational efficiency and system reliability.
• Provide ongoing support for both cloud-based (Azure, AWS, or similar platforms) and on-premises hosting servers, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.

Job Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in computer science or related field
• 2 years of work experience in a similar role
• Work experience in the following within the last 2-5 years:

• Server automation technologies for Windows and Linux such as PowerShell, Ansible, Puppet or similar technologies.
• CI/CD pipelines including Azure DevOps
• Managing and automating IIS web application hosting. (Microsoft web server)
• Managing and automating containerized applications.
• Hosting .NET applications
• Git source control platforms (such as Gitlab, GitHub, Azure DevOps) change control tool for programmers

• Work experience on at least one project in the past using the following:
  • Message/event driven architecture.
  • Automation of IOT or devices with unreliable network availability.
  • Software development lifecycle

Skills & Abilities

• Ability to learn new skills, technology or frameworks as required to help the team or other business units accomplish their goals.
• Ability to work in an Agile environment where frequent demos for users and stakeholders provide essential feedback for development.
