What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automotive Paint Technician position at Excel Auto Body?
Responsible for completing high-quality paint repairs assigned in the shortest time possible while ensuring exceptional service to our customers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform duties associated with painting to include mixing and matching paint, preparing and testing panels, and monitoring of painting operations.
- Ensure quality paint repairs through prepping, blending formulas, top coat application, and curing.
- Identify cause and correct any deficiencies that may occur during the painting process including blistering and streaking.
- Meet our OE and I-CAR standards.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. air sprayers, sanders, etc.)
- Follow protocols provided for repairs.
- Prep vehicles for painting as necessary.
- Strong, consistent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate.
- Positive, can-do attitude with the desire to work in a team setting.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of performing high-quality paint repairs using up-to-date methods.
- Ability to use all power tools required to perform position.
- Must be able to understand verbal and/or written instructions related to repairs, ask follow-up questions and communicate clearly any obstacles with meeting deadlines and/or standards.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Prior auto body painting experience required.
- Experience with extensive paint repairs.
- Experience in PPG EHP
