What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boat Outfitter position at Excel Boat Company?
We are the national premier boat building company for the recreation industry. Our boats are built tough and our welds are first class. Our specialty is bay, bass, walleye, salmon, duck hunting and crappie fishing boats. We are growing fast in our brand new, state of the art boat building plant in Union City, TN . We are looking to expand our Finish Department.
Assembles aluminum boats and/or sub-assemblies, partially or completely, working at a bench, or in a boat, or on shop floor by performing varies duties.
A. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Position and install assemblies, sub-assemblies and parts following diagrams or blueprints.
2. Install windows using correct tools and inspect work after installation for inaccuracies.
3. Fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
4. Uses jigs, screws, rivets, glue, tape and various other fasteners to install parts.
5. Remove small quantities of metal with hand files, shears or other tools to achieve optimal fits.
6. Operate drill presses, punch presses, air tools or riveting machines to assist in assembly operation.
7. Install seats, bases, pedestals, consoles, cables, controls, graphics, etc.
8. Visually inspect all installed parts for correct installation and accuracy.
9. Keep work area clean a presentable on a daily basis.
B. Skills
1. Ability to read and interpret rulers, gauges and other measuring devises.
2. Proficient in drilling holes in correct location based on measurements or print.
3. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions such as adding, subtracting two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
4. Capable to determine acceptable from unacceptable product quality, personal behavior and productivity and understanding to carry out step by step instructions.
5. Ability to maintain connection and communication among other employees and management.
B. Qualifications
1.Capable individual will be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
2.Capable of standing for long periods of time; repetitive use of hands and arms. Ability to walk; climb, or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. May need to work intermittently from a ladder.
3.Required to lift and/or move up to 15 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move 75 pounds. Capable of lifting 50 pounds over the shoulder.
4. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
5. Great socialization and communication with management and coworkers.
6. Mechanical aptitude desired.
7. Ability to correctly make simple electrical connections.
8. Ability to operate a multimeter to test circuits is desired.
9.Experience in assembly, wiring or rigging preferred.
10. High school or GED graduate preferred.
