The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites applications for four full-time Academic Professional Teaching (APT) faculty positions in its Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department (http://www.cse.uta.edu). These openings are for positions that start in the Fall 2025 semester. These APT positions can be at the ranks of lecturer, senior lecturer; or assistant/associate/full professor of instruction. The successful candidates are expected to have strong teaching and communication skills and should have the technical capabilities and knowledge to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in one or more specialization areas of computer science, software engineering, or computer engineering. For these two openings, preference will be given to qualified applicants who can teach classes in one or more of the following areas: computer engineering, data science, information security, game design, graphics, compilers, and artificial intelligence. We will accept applications until all positions are filled, but priority will be given to candidates who apply before January 31, 2025.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The successful candidates are expected to have strong teaching and communication skills and should have the technical capabilities and knowledge to teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in one or more specialization areas of computer science, software engineering, or computer engineering. For these openings, preference will be given to qualified applicants who can teach classes in one or more of the following areas: Graphics, Compilers, game design, information security, and artificial intelligence.
Required Qualifications
Candidates for Assistant / Associate / Full Professor of Instruction or Senior Lecturer must have earned (by the start date) a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related area. Candidates for Lecturer must have earned (by the start date) an M.S. degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related area. Industrial experience will also be a consideration.
All candidates must show a strong commitment to teaching excellence and should share the university’s core values of fostering an open environment that promote participation of groups that are currently underrepresented in computing and engineering fields.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching at the college level.
