Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Dental Receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing front desk operations in a busy dental practice. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in medical office software.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and manage the check-in and check-out process.
- Schedule appointments and manage the dental calendar efficiently.
- Verify patient insurance information and handle insurance claims processing.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with privacy regulations.
- Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries regarding services, appointments, and billing.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Collaborate with dental staff to ensure smooth patient flow and high-quality care.
- Utilize medical office software including Meditech, Athenahealth, Eaglesoft, or similar systems for patient management.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a front desk role within a dental or medical office is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Familiarity with medical terminology, coding, and insurance verification processes is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems (EHR) such as Meditech or Athenahealth is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of hospital procedures and experience with medical coding is an advantage.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in medical administration are a plus.
