Job Summary:
Excel Driving Academy is looking for friendly, part-time behind the wheel driving instructors to conduct behind-the-wheel driving lessons for students of all ages and varied levels of experience. This position is on the road, real time driving in a car with a dual passenger brake. This position requires scheduling flexibility and it also requires instructor making their own schedule to some degree. This position is part-time and includes working some weekends.

General Requirements for Employment:
- Must be 25 year of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
- Hold a valid Class "D" Louisiana license.
- At least five (5) years driving experience with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a State and Federal criminal background check, drug screening, and fingerprinting annually.
- Excellent communication skills
- Can work independently and operate as part of a team
- Must be reliable and enjoy working with both teens and young adults.
- Must be able to think quickly and act appropriately in emergencies.
- Must be patient and compassionate.
- Must have a business casual appearance.
- Driving instruction or teaching experience a plus.
Essential Duties (including, but not limited to):
- Instruct students on safe driving techniques in a company provided vehicle, with dual brakes.
- Give students guidance regarding traffic laws and defensive driving skills to become safe drivers.
- Communicate with student's family members before and after each lesson.
- Take pride in teaching lifelong driving responsibilities.
- Process and complete State of LA mandated paperwork accurately.
- Sanitizing, disinfecting, and cleaning school vehicles after each lesson.
- May be utilized as classroom instructor as well.
Working conditions
This position requires weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Physical requirements
The position demands the ability to sit in a car for 2 hours.'
