These services include: Routine vision exam, LASIK vision correction, Cataract care, Retinal conditions, Diabetic eye care, Corneal Transplants, Glaucoma Care, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Dry eye treatment, Cosmetic Surgery, Glasses, and Contacts.
Position Summary: Excel Eye Center is looking for a dedicated and experienced medical billing to join our billing team. A successful candidate will be well-versed in medical insurance regulation, and an expert at responding to patient and insurance inquiries. Medical billers are responsible for investigating insurance denials, initiating payment processes, maintaining patient confidentiality, and accurately inputting patient data into our practice management system. Medical billers also work closely with other departments to successfully provide world-class service to our patients.
Essential Job Functions:
- Coding/auditing charges before they are submitted to health insurance plans.
- Resolve pre/post coding denials, analyze and complete scrubber edits.
- Stay current on coding education and regulations to ensure accurate coding is performed.
- Request, prepare, and send claims to insurance companies.
- Work independently as well as on a team.
- Stay current on health insurance rules and regulations.
- Ability to use/navigate clinic software.
- Actively contribute to setting and achieving personal and department goals.
- Abide strictly to HIPAA law by maintaining confidentiality.
- Process payments from patients and health insurance plans.
Qualifications: Excel Eye Center is looking for candidates that demonstrate excellent communication skills by speaking with professionalism, compassion, and confidence. Ability to work cooperatively with team members, providers, clinic staff, and industry representatives. Proficient with computers. Self-starter that can work with minimal supervision. Understanding of accounts receivable process, medical services, and health insurance companies. Previous experience with medical billing preferred.

Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
