Are you experienced in installing, maintaining, and calibrating a wide range of industrial instruments and control systems? EXCEL Group is seeking a skilled Instrument Technician to join our team. As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate installation and functionality of instrumentation equipment crucial to our industrial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and analyze technical drawings, P&IDs, and schematics to understand the requirements for installing industrial instruments and control systems.
- Execute the installation, assembly, and calibration of various industrial instruments, including pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, control valves, and more.
- Maintains, adjusts, installs, inspects, tests, and calibrates all types of hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical instruments throughout the plant. These instruments sense temperature, conductivity, presses (including vacuum and differentials pressures), flow, density, level (liquid, solid and liquid-solid interface), weight, pH, turbidity, kiln flame failure system, time and dew point.
- Analyzes all types of circuits associated with electronic equipment, wiring diagrams, and drawings as required to install, repair, adjust, calibrate, construct, modify or service all types of related electronic devices and systems, electronic timers, communication systems, various electronic mill and production equipment, electronic computing and control systems, measuring, recording, processing, and control devices, indicating devices and gauges, etc.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment to mount, align, and connect instruments and control devices accurately.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of installations, calibrations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
- Adhere rigorously to safety protocols and established procedures when working with hazardous materials or in high-risk environments.
- Contribute your expertise to team discussions, sharing insights for process improvements and optimization.
- Keep your work area organized and clean to ensure efficient operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Technical education or certification in industrial instrumentation is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience as an Instrument Tech or in a similar role in industrial settings.
- Profound understanding of industrial instrumentation, control systems, and process automation.
- Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical diagrams.
- Familiarity with a diverse range of industrial instruments, sensors, and control devices.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues independently.
- Effective communication skills, enabling collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical capability to perform tasks that involve climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and protocols pertaining to industrial instrument installation.
