Overview:
EXCEL Group is seeking an IT Analyst to join our team at our industrial jobsite in Freeport, Texas. As an IT Analyst, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting all desktop infrastructure and associated IT systems. This includes desktops, laptops, printers, business cell phones, and related software. The analyst ensures seamless service delivery across the organization, upholds IT policies, and provides technical support to users and internal IT teams. This role plays a critical part in the daily operations of IT services and contributes to the company’s secure and efficient technology environment.
Responsibilities:
User Training & Support:
Conduct IT orientation for new hires and contractors.
Train staff on IT policies, software, hardware, and systems.
PC Infrastructure:
Install, relocate, and maintain PC equipment.
Provide 1st and 2nd-level hardware/software support.
Coordinate with Business Systems Analysts and escalate advanced issues.
Systems Administration:
Manage hardware/software orders and installations.
Support mobile devices and business apps.
Handle user account provisioning (Active Directory, Office365).
Assist with network equipment deployment and CCTV/access control systems.
Deploy cybersecurity tools in line with IT framework.
Systems Support:
Attend unit meetings to understand business needs.
Maintain system/user documentation and training materials.
Collaborate with vendors and applications support teams.
Handle routine data recovery and business machine support.
Maintain printer functionality and track IT assets.
Service Desk Operations:
Fulfill service requests and assign tasks as needed.
Provide responsive, safe, and effective technical support.
Offer on-call/after-hours support as required.
Qualification Standards:
Education:
Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
Equivalent work experience (3–5 years) with some college-level education will be considered.
Certifications (Preferred but Not Required):
Google IT Support Professional Certificate (ITSPC)
Microsoft IT Support Specialist Professional (ITSSP)
CompTIA A and/or Network
ITIL Foundations
Experience:
Proficiency in Windows, Office365, desktop tools, and PC architecture.
Experience administering ITSM platforms (e.g., ConnectWise, ServiceNow, Fresh Service).
Familiarity with imaging, access control, and network troubleshooting tools.
Knowledge:
IP-based networking (DHCP, DNS, VLANs).
Cybersecurity best practices and awareness.
Windows device imaging and PII/Cybersecurity Training Platforms (e.g., KnowBe4).
Key Competencies:
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Self-motivated with minimal supervision.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
Detail-oriented with a team-player mindset.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly push, pull, bend, stand, and walk on cement.
Lift up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally.
Operate tools and equipment with proper coordination.
Use PPE as required in designated areas.
Work Environment:
Chemical manufacturing facility with moderate noise and vibrations.
May work outdoors or in confined spaces in various weather conditions.
