EXCEL Group is seeking a skilled and reliable Material Handler to join our team. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the production line by handling and distributing materials needed for the manufacturing process. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute to the success of our production operations.
Responsibilities:
- Machines fill 50 pound bags with PVC powder, seals the bag, labels the bag, and places the sealed and labeled bags in boxes.
- Inspect incoming materials and components for damage, defects, or inconsistencies. Report any issues to the appropriate personnel and follow established quality control procedures.
- Safely and efficiently operates the bagging and palletizing equipment.
- Bag weighs, labels, palletizes, boxes, bag prints, housekeeping, maximizes production rates, and maintains final product quality.
- Inspect incoming materials and components for damage, defects, or inconsistencies. Report any issues to the appropriate personnel and follow established quality control procedures.
- Provide support to the packaging machines whenever necessary.
- A large part of time is spent sweeping up PVC powder which will fall to the floor as a result of the packaging process.
- Responsible for stacking boxes onto pallets which are loaded on trucks via forklift.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries. Comply with company policies and procedures related to material handling and production operations.
- Work closely with the production team, supervisors, and other material handlers to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Material Handler or similar role in a production or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Must have a valid drivers license.
- Knowledge of material handling equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyors.
- Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work orders, and material labels.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials to prevent errors or mix-ups in production.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet production deadlines.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with other team members effectively.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing production demands.
- Safety-conscious attitude and adherence to safety regulations and guidelines.
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shift (days/nights/weekends)
Pay: $18.50 per hour
