EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced Project Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the planning, scheduling, cost estimation, budgeting, and monitoring of a project. The primary role of this position is to ensure that projects are completed efficiently, within budget, and according to schedule. Candidate should be detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, and excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.

- Pay: DOE (Per Diem with in 60 Miles)

- Shift and schedule: 10 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
Responsibilities:
- Planning: Collaborate with project managers and or clients to develop comprehensive project plans, including schedules, resource allocation, and milestones.
- Scheduling: Create and maintain project schedules using software tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6. This involves identifying critical paths, sequencing tasks, and optimizing resource utilization.
- Cost Estimation: Develop accurate cost estimates for project activities, materials, labor, and overhead expenses. This includes analyzing historical data, obtaining quotes from suppliers, and considering potential risks.
- Budgeting: Establish project budgets based on cost estimates and funding constraints. Monitor and control project expenditures to ensure they stay within approved budgets.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks that could impact project objectives and develop mitigation strategies to address them. This involves assessing risks related to schedule delays, cost overruns, resource shortages, and external factors.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project progress against established schedules, budgets, and performance metrics. Generate reports and dashboards to provide clients/internal team with real-time insights into project status and performance.
- Change Management: Evaluate proposed changes to project scope, schedule, or budget and assess their potential impact on project objectives. Implement change control processes to ensure changes are properly documented, approved, and integrated into project plans.
- Communication: Facilitate communication and collaboration among project owners, including project managers/engineers, team members, clients, and vendors. Provide regular updates on project status, risks, and performance to ensure alignment and transparency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Electrical and Instrumentation Project Controls Specialist in industrial contracting or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, cost control, risk management, and change management.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., Primavera, Microsoft Project, Excel).
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with project teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of industrial construction processes, procedures, and safety regulations.
