What are the responsibilities and job description for the VCM Unloader position at EXCEL Group?
EXCEL Group is looking for a dependable and skilled VCM Unloader to support our team. In this role, you'll be key to maintaining a smooth and efficient material flow throughout our manufacturing processes. Your strong attention to detail, organizational abilities, and experience in fast-paced environments will help ensure seamless production. Ideal candidates should have prior experience with hazardous materials and expertise in dry material loading/unloading to guarantee safe and effective material transfer.
Responsibilities:
- Safely connect and disconnect transfer hoses for VCM unloading from railcars or trucks
- Monitor gauges, flow meters, and unloading equipment to ensure proper material flow
- Conduct inspections of unloading systems and equipment to identify any issues or leaks
- Perform both VCM and dry material loading/unloading, following safety and operating procedures
- Maintain accurate records of material quantities and input data into the facility management system
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and promptly report malfunctions
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate unloading schedules and prioritize tasks efficiently
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Certificate or degree in process technology or process operations preferred
- Experience in both liquid and dry material loading/unloading in an industrial setting, ideally with hazardous chemicals
- Strong knowledge of safety protocols related to hazardous materials (OSHA, DOT)
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills
- Availability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
