Job Overview
Seeking licensed NP to support our veterans during their Disability Benefits Examination. This position performs assessments on Veterans and will not treat nor prescribe medication. This is an in-person position. Professional will review pertinent medical history documentation and provide one-time, non-treatment compensation and pension exams for the Veterans.
Duties
- Read order request(s) including any remarks, questions, directions or requests for opinion; thorough review of medical history including service records and previous exams. This includes refuting previous medical opinions.
- Explain the exam process to the veteran and confirm the claimed conditions with the Veteran.
- Completes the appropriate DBQ and MO through the EMR during the exam and provides necessary documentation to the VA with a full understanding of the Veteran's claimed contention(s).
- provide Compensation & Pension exams and in some cases order and interpret diagnostic tests including but not limited to lab work, spirometry, and ECGs.
- Complete chart and submit exam within 24-48 hours after the exam is completed.
- Follows appropriate and applicable protocol if behavioral health or medical emergencies occur
- Commitment to serving Veterans, including those with service animals, ensuring they are not refused service.
- Works well independently and has strong time management skills.
- Willing to troubleshoot IT issues with veteran, computer & technology proficiency.
- Ability to navigate in a virtual platform
- Unrestricted State Medical licensure without limitations to perform full scope of authorized practice.
* Prior experience in clinical settings preferred
* Prior VA or C&P experience preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $59.00 - $63.00 per hour
