Job Overview:
Excel Services Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Commercial/Industrial Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for accurately calculating project costs for design build and plan and spec mechanical systems in construction, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical systems and construction methodologies, with experience working on commercial and industrial projects. They will also possess excellent mathematical and analytical skills, as well as the ability to read and interpret construction documents, blueprints, and technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine scope, materials, and labor requirements.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
- Obtain quotes from suppliers and subcontractors for materials and services to ensure accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with the project management and engineering teams to prepare competitive bids.
- Evaluate and assess the risks associated with project budgets and schedules.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather additional project information.
