What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Pipefitter position at EXCEL USA?
EXCEL Group is seeking an experienced and skilled Maintenance Pipefitter to join our team. The pipefitter must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, ISO’s, field installations, material takeoffs, field sketches, and understand specifications. You will work with various types of pipe materials, tools, and equipment to ensure the efficient operation of piping systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain piping systems used in industrial facilities.
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan the layout and design of piping systems.
- Inspect and troubleshoot existing piping systems to identify issues and make necessary repairs.
- Install valves, fittings, and other components in accordance with safety standards and building codes.
- Perform routine maintenance on plumbing systems to prevent issues and ensure their proper functioning.
- Use hand and power tools to cut, bend, and thread pipes according to requirements.
- Work with welding and soldering equipment to join metal pipes as needed.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any incidents or issues encountered.
- Follow all safety procedures and work in compliance with industry regulations.
Qualifications:
- Vocational training or certification in pipefitting is preferred.
- Proven experience as a pipefitter, with a minimum of 3 years in maintenance or construction.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints, schematics, and piping diagrams.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to safety standards.
- Nccer certified is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights as necessary.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
