Essential Job Functions
- Facilitates the camp programming
- Implements daily programming and scheduled activities as instructed
- Monitor the behavior of the children in daily programming activities
- Redirect as necessary with regard to safety and appropriate interaction with staff and peers
- Facilitate constructive participation in all facets of the day camp
- Assist therapists in documentation
- Document / report daily observations of children's behaviors
- Document / report progress with respect to treatment goals
- Maintain a safe environment for patient and others
- Consistently demonstrates use of equipment specific to age of patient served
- Consistently demonstrates use of procedures specific to age of patient served
- Consistently identifies biopsychosocial and spiritual needs specific to age of patient served
- Provides age appropriate education to patients and families.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education.
- College credits in Education, Psychology, Social Work or related discipline.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience with children/adolescents in behavioral health, educational or child care setting.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.

License, Certification & Clearances
- PA Act 153 Clearances (Act 34-PA Criminal Record Check from the PA State Police system, Act 33-PA Child Abuse History obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, Act 73-FBI Fingerprint requirement).
Supervisory Responsibilities
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
- Travel may be expected locally between Excela Health locations.
