Essential Job Functions
Independently partner with leaders consistently on all HR and business functions. Provide a consultative approach, proactively identifying and partnering with leaders in addressing issues and concerns.
Works closely with staff to assist them in defining and achieving their operational and management goals and performed objectives.
Monitor human resources indicators to identify problem areas and make recommendations that will help support the organization.
Promotes a culture of high performance and provides ideas and solutions as well as training opportunities to staff and leader
Coordinates with the assigned departments to ensure delivery of additional HR Resources, such as Talent Management, Recruiting, and Compensation.
Focuses on strong succession planning and strategic leadership development. Partner with business leaders to build leadership depth to support the succession planning process. Support and enable leaders to make informed decisions about talent and to hold their organizations accountable for business results.
Consult and assist managers on employee issues that require in depth knowledge of policies, procedures and corrective steps up to and including termination.
Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
Coordinates and Facilitates New Hire Orientation. Utilizes evaluation information to make recommendations to management team for continuous improvement.
Responds to employee relations issues such as complaints, allegations and procedures.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with legal department as needed / required.
Contributes to employee engagement events and analyzes SMD, onboarding, and exit survey results to aid in retention and engagement.
Maintains administrative functions in UKG Pro regarding annual review process and job descriptions. Has the authority to make changes, complete auditing processes, and troubleshoot. Is responsive to manager’s needs and assistance to complete tasks in an accurate, timely manner.
Assists in the coordination of all employee relations sponsored activities.
Attends and acts as a witness at unemployment hearings as a representative for the employer. Testifies to claimant’s employment history and status, including reason for termination and HR policy testimony
Perform in accordance with system-wide competencies / behaviors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related field OR
High School, GED or higher level of education and (2) year of employee relations experience required.
Knowledge and understanding of federal, state and local legislations as it applies to human resources and the employment process.
Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
Strong ability to communicate complex and / or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ultimate Software experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on-call, etc.).
Travel may be expected locally between Excela Health locations.
