South Carolina Mobile Dental Centers and its management company ExcelHealth Group, is seeking to fill one exciting and fulfilling entry-level position. SCMDC is a Florida-based dental company providing comprehensive dental care for residents of long-term care facilities. Our services are delivered via state-of-the-art mobile dental clinics which arrive onsite each day at a different nursing home.
This is a fantastic opportunity to learn and grow in both the dental and long-term care industries. Each mobile clinic provides a small, inviting environment creating a safe space to deliver great care and on-the-job training experience.
Traveling Team: The traveling clinic staff includes a clinic manager, dental assistant, and a patient transporter. The clinic staff typically meets at a designated location and travel together in a company vehicle as a team of three. Dentist generally arrives separately.
Travel: Four (4) to five (5) days per week throughout the state
Overnight Stays: Occasional over night stays
Primary Service Areas Available:
- Throughout the full state of Florida
Requirements:
- Primary responsibility is safely transporting residents in wheelchairs or geriatric chairs to and from the nursing facility to the dental clinic which is typically parked right outside of the building in the parking lot.
- Must possess a desire to work with residents of nursing homes.
- Must be able to safely navigate a ramp while transporting patients of varying sizes, heights and weights on an incline and decline.
- Must be comfortable transporting patients in varying temperatures both indoors and outdoors.
- Must demonstrate concern for the patient’s well-being and an understanding of cultural sensitivity.
- Must be willing and able to communicate with facility staff and elderly patients clearly and respectfully.
- Must assist, as needed, with clinic maintenance, cleaning, and sterilizing procedures.
- Must be punctual and attentive to schedules and procedures.
- Must be flexible with schedule.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from launch site.
- This position requires frequent walking, standing, stooping, reaching and pushing.
Compensation:
- When traveling for company, transportation, overnight hotel, and overnight meals directly to an overnight stay are covered at the company's expense.
- Windshield/traveling time is paid at same hourly wage.
- Scrub allowance following company policy.
FLSA: Full-time, non-exempt, hourly

Employment Contingencies:
All employees who have direct patient access are subject to a background check and drug screening. Unacceptable results will exclude an applicant from employment.
The state of Florida requires a Level 2 background check with fingerprinting as part of the process. This must be completed in a timely manner with acceptable results as determined by the state of Florida.
