Job Overview:
As a Machine Operator, you will play a crucial role in the production process, focusing on operating and monitoring CNC Mills and Lathes. Your responsibilities will include setting up machines, loading materials, and ensuring the efficient and safe operation of various machining equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Setup and Operation:
- Set up and operate CNC equipment to produce aluminum castings in accordance with production schedules and quality standards.
- Load materials into machines, secure workpieces, and initiate machining processes.
Quality Assurance:
- Perform regular inspections of machined parts to verify conformance to specifications and quality standards.
- Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to maintain product quality.
Tool Changes and Maintenance:
- Change and adjust cutting tools as needed, following proper procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Production Monitoring:
- Monitor machine operation and production output to identify any deviations or issues.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Participate in safety meetings and training sessions as required.
Documentation:
- Record production data, including machine settings, production quantities, and any quality issues.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other machine operators, as well as engineering and quality control teams, to ensure smooth production processes.
- Communicate effectively with team members to address and resolve any issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in machining is a plus.
- Proven experience as a machine operator manufacturing environment.
- Basic understanding of machining processes and CNC equipment, including lathe, horizontal, and vertical machines.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and machining techniques.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move moderate to heavy materials.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods during machine operation.
