Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and skilled Quality Technician to join our team responsible for conducting rigorous quality checks on military vehicles. The ideal candidate will be tasked with performing comprehensive 200-point inspections, ensuring that all vehicles meet strict military specifications and quality standards. Additionally, the Quality Technician will be responsible for performing rework on vehicles that do not meet quality standards, ensuring compliance with operational readiness requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
200-Point Quality Checks:
Perform detailed quality inspections on military vehicles, assessing both functional and aesthetic elements. The checks will cover a wide range of systems including engine performance, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, structural integrity, safety features, and compliance with military standards.Rework and Rectification:
For vehicles that fail quality checks, perform necessary rework and repairs to ensure they meet the required standards. This includes identifying defects, recommending corrective actions, and collaborating with technicians and engineers to implement solutions.Documentation and Reporting:
Accurately document inspection results, rework performed, and any deviations from quality standards. Provide detailed reports on findings and suggest improvements to the quality control process.Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
Work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance teams to identify and resolve quality issues, ensuring that all vehicles are returned to operational status as efficiently as possible.Tool and Equipment Usage:
Use a variety of precision measuring instruments, diagnostic tools, and technical manuals to assess vehicle quality. Maintain and calibrate tools as needed to ensure accurate measurements.Safety and Cleanliness:
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized workspace. Ensure that all safety measures are in place during inspections and rework activities.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.Experience:
At least 2-3 years of experience in a quality control or technician role, preferably within a military vehicle, automotive, or heavy equipment environment.Attention to Detail:
Strong ability to detect even the smallest defects or inconsistencies in military vehicles and components.Problem-Solving:
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot issues, recommend solutions, and effectively perform rework to rectify defects.Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry equipment or components up to 25 lbs. and work in various environments including outdoors or in confined spaces.Certifications (Preferred):
- Automotive service certifications (ASE, etc.)
- Military vehicle maintenance or repair training
