Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Quality Technician / Metal Finisher to join our team!. This role involves inspecting, finishing, and ensuring high-quality metal components for truck manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, experience in metal finishing techniques, and a commitment to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform metal finishing tasks, including grinding, sanding, buffing, and polishing truck components.
- Inspect finished metal parts for defects, ensuring they meet quality specifications.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Identify and correct imperfections such as weld splatter, rough edges, or surface inconsistencies.
- Work closely with the quality assurance team to maintain compliance with industry and company standards.
- Follow blueprints, work instructions, and safety procedures to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Maintain and clean tools and equipment used in the finishing process.
- Document and report any quality issues to supervisors and recommend process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in metal finishing, quality control, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of metal finishing techniques, including grinding, deburring, and polishing.
- Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, or other metal materials.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools used in metal finishing.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for documenting inspections and reports.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and stand for long periods.
