Job Title: PHP Developer (WordPress/Drupal)

Salary Range: $60,000 – $80,000 annually (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level PHP Developer to support the maintenance and enhancement of legacy content management systems, primarily WordPress and Drupal. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the ongoing functionality, performance, and stability of existing client websites.
In the long term, this position will support a broader digital transformation effort aimed at migrating clients to modern web technologies, including Next.js and headless CMS platforms. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated developer with foundational experience in PHP-based CMS platforms and a willingness to grow with the evolving tech stack.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform ongoing maintenance and updates to existing WordPress and Drupal websites
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across client CMS platforms
Collaborate with internal teams to implement new features and enhancements
Contribute to long-term planning and migration strategies to modern frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Headless CMS)
Assist with code documentation and best practices for CMS development
Required Qualifications:
1–5 years of professional experience with PHP development
Hands-on experience with WordPress and/or Drupal CMS
Understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL
Ability to troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing codebases
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Next.js
Familiarity with headless CMS architecture
Prior experience working in an agency or client-facing environment
Work Location:
This role offers flexibility with remote work. However, junior-level candidates are required to work in a hybrid capacity. Therefore, candidates located in Wisconsin or willing to relocate are strongly preferred.
