Location: Excellence Health - 3 locations - Two Daytona locations and One Palm Coast location - travel required

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant/Receptionist to join our team at Excellence Health. This dual role combines administrative support with patient care responsibilities, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation of the clinic. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication skills to handle both front-office and clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Receptionist Duties:
- Patient Check-In/Check-Out: Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and ensure accurate insurance and personal details.
- Scheduling Appointments: Answer phone calls, manage appointment bookings, and confirm patient appointments. Ensure smooth patient flow and optimize provider schedules.
- Patient Communication: Address patient inquiries, direct calls, and provide general information about clinic services, policies, and procedures.
- Insurance Verification: Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorization for services when required.
- Record Maintenance: Ensure patient records are accurately entered and maintained in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Assist with filing and retrieving documents as necessary.
- Billing and Payments: Collect co-pays, process payments, and assist with billing inquiries.
Medical Assistant Duties:
- Patient Preparation: Assist in preparing patients for examination, including taking vital signs, updating medical histories, and ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Assisting Providers: Support medical providers during patient exams, including preparing equipment and materials.
- Medical Procedures: Assist with minor medical procedures as directed by healthcare providers (e.g., wound care, injections, lab specimen collection).
- Clinical Documentation: Accurately document patient symptoms, medical history, and provider notes in the EHR system.
- Inventory Management: Maintain and monitor clinic supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary.
- Patient Education: Provide basic patient education on health conditions, treatments, and medications as directed by providers.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 of experience as a medical assistant, receptionist, or in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Skills:
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) software and office management software.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, and healthcare providers.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Compassionate and professional demeanor, with a focus on patient care and confidentiality.
- Certifications: CPR/BLS certification is preferred.
