Overview
We are seeking working artist who are enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an enriching summer experience. Camp Excellent is in need of Instructors in Music, Dance, Theater & Visual Arts. All of these disciplines will work cooperatively toward a final production to be presented the last day of camp. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, fun, and educational environment for campers. You will be responsible for leading activities, providing support, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages personal growth and teamwork among campers.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with campers during various activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Plan, organize, and implement daily activities that promote learning, creativity, and physical fitness.
- Provide guidance and support to campers in areas such as behavior management, conflict resolution, and personal development.
- Assist with special programs including arts and crafts, sports, theater, and educational workshops.
- Foster an inclusive environment that accommodates diverse needs, including those requiring special education support.
- Maintain open communication with parents/guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Participate in training sessions on first aid, emergency procedures, and camp policies to ensure a safe environment for all participants.
Requirements
- Previous experience in r youth programs such as daycare or tutoring is preferred.
- Strong skills in behavior management and classroom management to effectively guide camper interactions.
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles is a plus to align with our camp values.
- First aid certification is highly desirable; willingness to obtain certification if not currently held.
- Experience in your Artistic discipline.
- A passion for educating youth through engaging activities such as babysitting or theater is encouraged.
- Must be able to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities when needed.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.75 per hour

- 8 hour shift
