Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ground Support Equipment Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing ground support equipment used in aviation operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that all equipment is functioning optimally to support safe and efficient airport operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on ground support equipment, including tugs, baggage carts, and fuel trucks.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using various tools and equipment, including an ohmmeter.
- Conduct repairs on hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and engines as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance performed and parts used for compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist in training new technicians on equipment operation and maintenance procedures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in automotive or aviation mechanics is preferred.
- Proven experience as a technician or mechanic, preferably in ground support equipment or related fields.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, including an ohmmeter, to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $32.40 - $34.12 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
