Job Description:

The Insights & Competitive Intelligence Data Consultant will work with unstructured and structured data, and contributing to the development of predictive analytics, customer segmentation methodologies, market & financial intelligence analytics, data visualization creation, as well as the evaluation of new data sources and perform advanced data processing. This position will be a part of the Market Insights & Intelligence – Customer and Market/Competitive Data team, collaborating across the division and the organization to provide insight into market and consumer data trends that help drive strategic business decision making. This role will also serve as a liaison between Market Insights & Intelligence and the Analytics and Data team.

Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities

  • Processes, manipulates, analyzes and visualizes large quantitative and unstructured consumer, stakeholder, market, and financial data sets.
  • Extracts, cleans and manipulates large datasets (structured and unstructured) for model building.
  • Supports the analysis of competitor financial statements to determine competitor profit drivers, vulnerabilities, membership trends, etc., by loading and maintaining Financial PowerBI

dashboard.

  • Serves as a data expert and leverage your technical data/Extract, Transform, Load/programming skills to continuously challenge the status quo and optimize our analytical tools and

processes

  • Leverages methods from diverse disciplines such as, statistical modelling, information theory, information retrieval and other areas to gain market, competitive, and customer insights, draw

conclusions.

  • Weaves together data sets from various sources into a comprehensive holistic single source of truth.
  • Develops Power BI solutions to visually enhance storytelling targeted to a variety of audiences.
  • Designs and implement reporting dashboards tracking key business metrics that provide actionable insights to Executive Leadership and other stakeholders across the organization.
  • Collaborate with our data scientists to inform development of predictive models and algorithms that are used in business decision making throughout the organization.
  • Consult with cross-functional stakeholders on insightful data patterns and potential implications to our business.
  • Presents and communicates insights from quantitative analyses both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Work with functional sponsors and teams across MI&I to implement analytic solutions by identifying opportunities to leverage data to drive business solutions.
  • Responsible for larger assignments crossing lines of business, and ability to influence and present to managers and above.
  • Serves as a data subject matter expert and mentor to the organization on the use of consumer and market data.
  • Identifies and documents best practices and makes recommendations for standards improvement.
  • Interacts regularly with business area partners at a manager level, presenting recommendations and statuses.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in quantitative areas like Applied Math, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business or related disciplines. MBA preferred.
  • Three (3) years of hands-on experience in data visualization, data mining, and data analysis required. Customer and market data experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with financial modeling and analysis required.
  • Experience in at least one modeling platform, such as SAS, SQL, etc.
  • Knowledge of quantitative research methods and report development.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI required. Strong MS Office experience including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Prior modeling experience in risk, market response modeling and forecasting is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to summarize and present complex information and qualitative analysis in a clear and concise manner to drive business ideas.
  • Ability to present information and project findings and facilitate trainings effectively across all levels of the organization.

Physical Requirements

  • Works from a stationary desk most of the time.
  • Ability to travel across the health plan service regions as needed.

Compensation Range(s)

Minimum: $65,346 - Maximum: $111,622

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
