Job Description:
The Process Engineer serves as the key technical resource for the manufacturing operation focusing on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and problem resolution for electronic/mechanical equipment issues. This engineer also plays a key role in continuous improvement.
Job Description
- Planning and execution of the preventative maintenance programs. Improve the reliability of the equipment
- Diagnosing faults. Identifies and captures opportunities for improvement in equipment maintainability and reliability. Analysis of repetitive equipment failures.
- Managing budgets. Estimation of maintenance costs and evaluation of alternatives
- Developing maintenance procedures.
- Promotes equipment standardization.
- Electronics Troubleshooting and Repair: AC (Allen Bradley and Siemens) and DC Drives; PLC Troubleshooting.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts using lean manufacturing principles
- Work with vendors to source parts and to substitute OEM parts with more economical options, designing and testing improved parts, updating older electronics that are no longer supported by manufacturers to improve equipment functionality.
- Manage capital projects including identifying scope, cost, milestones, etc.
- Provide leadership, coaching and direction to shift technicians in all aspects of their work.
- Serves as a key resource for safety related issues with the goal of meeting/exceeding OSHA requirements for a safe workplace.
- Utilizes ERP system to manage and control maintenance supplies, parts inventory, and other expenses.
Job Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Five to ten years of experience working with electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance and engineering
- Ability to solve problems via advanced technical knowledge.
- A record of success in implementing lean manufacturing concepts for continuous improvement.
- Computer proficiency including MS Office, and ERP system.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with spending most of the time on the manufacturing floor.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities with frequently changing priorities
- Hands on management style
- Dependable, truthfulness and honesty in all communications.
- Self-directed with the ability to exercise independent sound judgment and action.
- Strong follow-through skills.
- Meet deadlines, establish clear priorities quickly, and adopt to changes while working both independently and as part of a team.
